In the 1990's I lived on the Atlantic coast of New York in a small island community. At the time Long Beach, was the still undiscovered poor mans Hampton's; only forty minutes from mid town Manhattan. The house, number 833 was located just steps off the sand dune and ocean. It was a tight two story white washed stucco building that was one of the few structures that had survived the famous 1936 hurricane. To all those who had lived there, it was and remains a special place to call home. This painting depicts the view from the wood deck of my downstairs friend and neighbor. And if you listen closely you can still hear the laughter on the wind.
